Barnegat Township – Memorial Day Service

The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts of Barnegat Township will hold a Memorial Day service on Sunday, May 28 beginning 10 a.m. at Frederick Watts Gazebo Park on the corner of East Bay Avenue and Route 9.
Steve Furrule, incoming American Legion post commander, said guest speakers include VFW Post Commander Leonard Hemmerle, State American Legion Vice Commander Brian Hagel and a representative from the township committee.
“I’d like to have (Township Committeeman) Joe Marte speak because he is a veteran,” said Mayor Pasquale “Pat” Pipi.
Furrule also said that on Saturday, May 27, various Legion members will be placing American flags at gravestones of veterans at several local cemeteries.
No Memorial Day parade has been scheduled
